Pre-K & Preschool Assemblies

Our youngest students learn best when they can sing, move, laugh and join in. The preschool and Pre-K assemblies below are built for little listeners: lots of music and participation, simple big ideas, and performers who know how to keep a room of four-year-olds happily engaged. Every program is booked through Academic Entertainment with one point of contact from start to finish.

What makes a great Pre-K assembly

• Music and movement. Songs and actions keep young children involved instead of just watching.
• Short, clear messages. One or two big ideas, like being kind or eating healthy, repeated in fun ways.
• Plenty of participation. Little ones love being helpers, so shows with volunteers and call-and-response work well.
• Laughter. Silly moments keep attention and make the message memorable.

Music and storytelling

Michael Levine Brings Pete the Cat combines music, storytelling and social-emotional learning from the music producer behind the original four Pete the Cat stories and songs. Twinkle Time LIVE! is a concert-style show with bilingual English–Spanish music and movement. Bully Shmully with award-winning children's performer Eric Herman uses music to teach kindness and how to handle bullying.

Magic, comedy and reading

The Funny Magic Show with comic magician Brian Richards is pure fun, and his Magic of Reading uses the same magic and comedy to get young children excited about books. Once Upon a Toon lets students watch cartoonist Joe Wos draw a story as he tells it.

Healthy habits and good choices

Magic of 5-A-Day and The bFit Show make healthy eating and exercise fun. For character lessons, Got Character? and Mystery of the Character Surprise teach friendship, kindness and good choices in a way young students understand.

Tips for planning a preschool assembly

• Ask about show length. Some programs can be adjusted for younger audiences.
• Seat the youngest children up front so they can see and participate.
• Combine Pre-K with kindergarten or early elementary grades when the show fits both.
• Consider a family or PTA night. Several of these shows are a hit with parents too.
