Their fast-paced demonstrations showcase astonishing footwork, precision juggling and imaginative tricks designed to capture the attention of soccer fans and newcomers alike.

The Futboleros school assembly brings students an up-close look at the dedication, coordination and practice behind freestyle soccer. Students will be amazed as a talented Futbolero athlete demonstrates advanced ball-handling skills, creative combinations and crowd-pleasing tricks.

Note – Program pricing includes a performance by one Futboleros athlete. Additional performers may be requested for an added fee, subject to availability. Your school may have a different person as your presenter, or varied backdrops and props depending on your area. Outdoor programs require an indoor backup plan.

Meet Futboleros Founder James Ortega

Futboleros founder James Ortega was born in Quito, Ecuador, and raised in Meriden, Connecticut, where soccer was an important part of family life. After moving to Los Angeles, James began exploring ways to entertain audiences beyond traditional competitive play.

He developed a distinctive freestyle approach built around juggling, ball control and inventive soccer tricks. Over the course of his career, James has performed at thousands of events, appeared in more than 20 commercials and four movies, and served as head of entertainment for the LA Galaxy from 2008 through 2013.

In 2008, James shared his training methods through his instructional video, Extreme Soccer Skills. One of his career highlights came in 2014, when he participated in the New Year’s Day Rose Parade on behalf of the American Youth Soccer Organization.

Today, James continues to perform, teach and develop the next generation of freestyle soccer talent. He also created a progressive soccer academy for beginning, intermediate and advanced players, along with a soccer training device known as the “PK—The Perfect Kick.”
