Health, Fitness & Wellness School Assemblies
Telling kids to eat their vegetables and get moving only goes so far. A great health and fitness assembly makes those habits feel exciting, with magic, sports stunts, real athletes and plenty of chances for students to jump in. Whether your focus is nutrition, physical activity, mental health or making safe choices, here are the wellness programs schools book with Academic Entertainment.

Healthy eating and nutrition
Magic of 5-A-Day with Brian Richards uses magic, comedy and audience participation to get Pre-K–6 students excited about fruits, vegetables and the 5-a-Day challenge. It's a natural fit for National Nutrition Month in March. Read more about planning a National Nutrition Month assembly.

Getting kids moving
The bFit Show, also from Brian Richards, combines magic, juggling and music into a 45-minute elementary program that makes students want to get fit. For older students and big crowds, Futboleros brings jaw-dropping freestyle soccer, and Corey the Dribbler, a former Harlem Globetrotter and 8-time Guinness World Record holder, pairs basketball skills with a message about respect and responsibility.

Mental health, resilience and confidence
Reach Your Buzzer with American Ninja Warrior Rachel Degutz Berns shows students how to push past self-doubt and keep going when something is hard. Mr. Peace talks with K–12 students about mental health and kindness, and has spoken at more than 1,000 schools.

Safe, healthy choices
Freestyle Connection BMX pairs live BMX stunts with messages about bicycle safety, staying drug-free and staying in school, which makes it a favorite for Red Ribbon Week. Note that it needs a backup indoor space in case of bad weather.

Why a Health Assembly Sticks When a Lecture Doesn't
- Kids remember what made them laugh. A magic trick about eating your vegetables sticks far longer than a food pyramid on a slide.
- Athletes are credible messengers. When a Harlem Globetrotter or a Ninja Warrior talks about practice, persistence and healthy choices, students listen.
- Students get up and move. These programs build in volunteers, challenges and activities, so the message is something students do, not just hear.
- It gives teachers a shared reference. "Remember the 5-a-Day challenge?" is an easy reminder for the rest of the year.
Great Times for a Wellness Assembly
- March: National Nutrition Month.
- May: Mental Health Awareness Month and National Physical Fitness and Sports Month.
- Late October: Red Ribbon Week.
- Field day, health fairs and family fitness nights any time of year.
