About Finding Gobi Author Dion Leonard

Dion Leonard was dying as a result of his lifestyle. Dion, who weighed 250 pounds, was headed for an early death as a result of his compulsive eating, heavy drinking, and smoking to numb the pains of his violent and chaotic upbringing.

Dion felt his life was lacking a greater purpose as he ascended the corporate ladder as a highly successful entrepreneur and senior leader with over 20 years of sales and marketing experience with some of the biggest FMCG and wine & spirits companies in the sector. He started running and discovered that the farther he ran, the more difficult the task became, and the more he learned to use his strength to get over any challenge.

Dion became one of the world’s best ultra runners by competing in some of the most difficult and extreme ultra competitions throughout the planet’s most hostile regions thanks to his unwavering determination and natural ability to survive.
