Fun School Assemblies for Family Nights, Holidays & Rewards

Sometimes the goal isn't a lesson plan. It's a gym full of kids laughing, a family night parents actually show up for, or a reward that makes the whole school feel like it earned something. These are the fun school assemblies schools book with Academic Entertainment for celebrations, holidays and "just because" days, and most still sneak in a positive message.

Find the Right Fun Assembly for Your Event

Family nights and PTA events

You need something that holds a kindergartner and a parent at the same time. The Funny Magic Show with Brian Richards mixes comedy, magic, juggling and puppets for all ages, and Laugh Factory is a comical magic show that keeps students and staff laughing. For a crowd that loves to compete, the Unique Game Show turns the audience into teams, and you can customize the questions.

Holidays and winter break

The weeks before winter break are made for a high-energy show. Magic, comedy and game shows are easy holiday picks. Ask us which programs can add a seasonal theme. See our Christmas assembly ideas for more.

End of the year and field day

Celebrate a finished year with something big. The Ultimate Human Board Game puts students on a life-size game board built around teamwork and sportsmanship, and BalloonTalk brings a real hot air balloon to your school. Futboleros freestyle soccer is also a great fit for field day. More ideas: end-of-year assembly planning and field day activities and resources.

PBIS rewards and incentives

When students hit a goal, the reward should feel like a party with a purpose. The Amazing Arthur ("Hocus Pocus, I Can Focus!") and Reach Your Buzzer with an American Ninja Warrior celebrate effort while reinforcing it. Finding Gobi shares the heartwarming true story of ultrarunner Dion Leonard and Gobi, the little dog with a big heart who joined him during a race.

Back to school and summer camp

Start the year with energy, or give your campers a highlight of the summer. Check out back-to-school assembly ideas and our summer camp shows, which bring many of these programs to camps.

Fun Doesn't Have to Mean "No Learning"

Almost every show on this page has a message built in. Some, like The Funny Magic Show, are pure entertainment, but many others pair the laughs with focus, teamwork, kindness or science. That makes them easy to justify to your principal and fun enough that students will talk about them for weeks. If you want more of a lesson, see our character education assemblies, or the music and arts assemblies.

Fun Assembly FAQs

Which shows work for a mixed-age family night?

The Funny Magic Show is built for all ages. The Unique Game Show and Futboleros also work well when you have siblings, parents and grandparents in the same room.

Do any shows work outdoors?

The Ultimate Human Board Game and BalloonTalk can work outdoors, which makes them great for field days. Plan a backup indoor space in case of weather; each show page lists its setup needs.

Can a fun assembly be virtual?

Yes. The Funny Magic Show, Unique Game Show, Finding Gobi and several others offer live virtual versions.

How far ahead should we book for December or the end of the year?

Book early. Pre-winter-break and May dates fill quickly, so many schools reserve a few months ahead.

How do we get pricing?
