This delightful dance journey through the Near East, choreographed by Samara, one of today’s finest international performers of Middle Eastern dance, offers a diversity of engaging styles and rhythms, lavish, colorful costumes, and a charming story theater adaptation of a timeless Arabic folktale. A brief, participatory dancing instruction and a Q&A session round off the entertainment. This program can also provide artist workshops and residencies in addition to classroom teaching.

It is CRITICAL to provide a parking space for loading/unloading and ensure your show begins on time!
Audience: K-12 Capacity: As large as venue permits Presentation Time: 45-60 minutes (depending on hosts time requirement)
Set-Up Time: 60 – 90 minutes Take-Down Time: 60 – 75 minutes
Presentation Area: Performance space, ideally at least 30’ wide and 20’ deep, can be stage or floor level, and swept clean; elevated is preferred. If performance space is floor level, please seat students on the floor and not in chairs. An electrical outlet needs to be in the vicinity of the performance space.
Dressing/Backstage Area: A private area adjacent to the performance space to be used as a dressing area to accommodate quick changes for 4 (four) dancers plus costume rack and 2 (two) 6-foot tables. A public/student bathroom is not acceptable.
Arrival: No assistance for set-up or take-down is required, unless designated performance and/or backstage areas require clearing, then, custodial help is needed. On-site parking space for full-size 12-passenger van is needed. An elevator is helpful, but no essential. It is nice to know in advance if there any stairs, and if so, how many.
Assembly Requirements: An electrical outlet needs to be in the vicinity of the performance space. We supply sound system, cables, and extension cords. School to supply a small table for tech use, and 2 6’ tables for dressing area (if possible). It is important to speak with school contact in advance of presentation.
