Beginner Origami includes a brief history, some amazing examples, a little math, a little science and a whole lot of folding (three models). Origami is great for memorization skills, small motor coordination, eye-hand coordination, direction following, 3D visualization, and creative engagement.
Created by The Paper Airplane Guy, a world famous author, presenter and STEAM educator with more than 30 years of school and corporate presentations; Beginner Origami will get your students folding right away. The wide range of models shown will wow them, as well as motivate them to get busy folding.

Beginner Origami In-Person Setup
It is CRITICAL to provide a parking space for loading/unloading and ensure your show begins on time!
Audience: K-12 Capacity: 400 in-person Presentation Time: 50 minutes Prefer split younger/older
Set-Up Time: 1 hour Take-Down Time: 45 minutes
Presentation Area: Brightly lit performance space; minimum area of 8 ft. x 14 ft. Performance space can be stage or floor-level; floor level is preferred. If performance space is floor level, please seat students on the floor and not in chairs. If the performance area is a stage please make sure there are stairs for easy volunteer access to the performance area.
Arrival: Please provide assistance with the microphone, sound equipment, screen and projector.
Assembly Requirements: 3 pieces of 6 inch square origami paper and one 8.5×11 piece of paper per student. Paper can be purchased locally or through John. Please order paper two weeks in advance of the class when going through The Paper Airplane Guy. Microphone, speakers, and an auxiliary cable. Projector and Screen. (if you don’t have these, please let us know in advance) Please break up two or more assemblies by grade level: K-3, 4-6, etc.

Beginner Origami Virtual/Online Setup
Audience: K-12 Capacity: 300 or more screens Presentation Time: 45 minutes Prefer split younger/older
Platform: Zoom preferred, others available if school sets-up and hosts Presenter will: set-up and email Zoom link as late as the week prior to your show date. Please anticipate meeting presenter in the Zoom meeting 15-minutes prior to your start time so they may enable you/school representative as a co-host, and accommodate any last minute details/instructions. School provides: 4-5 pieces of 6 inch square origami paper per student. Paper can be purchased locally or through John. Please order paper two weeks in advance of the class when going through The Paper Airplane Guy.
