6 + 1 Writing Fun

45 minutes of fun-filled educational programming that promises to get your students excited about writing.

Age Range: K-6

6+1 Writing Fun is an upbeat "LIVE ACTION" language arts elementary school assembly program. Scripted by one of the nation's top six-traits specialist; 6+1 Writing Fun has been designed to keep children entertained and engaged while learning at the same time.

Students from Kindergarten though 6th grade are exposed to all 6+1 writing traits (Ideas to Presentation) with interactive examples of how the traits apply to their own compositions.

The 6+1 Writing Fun show is NOT a passive learning experience, each presentation requires audience interaction and participation. Students learn by seeing, hearing, and DOING! Hosted by expert speaker and illusionist, Jim Mitchell, 6+1 Writing Fun mixes kid friendly comedy, magic and music to enhance the learning experience.

I thought this program,and the presenter, was especially entertaining. I was initially skeptical when told the students would be attending an assembly about writing. However, the presenter and the content was surprisingly fun while simultaneously being informative. The content was especially useful because he showed the students how to make writing fun. Many students are daunted when they attempt to put pen to paper, yet he showed them when you break it down into steps- it is not so hard to do!!

Jim went above and beyond our agreement in attending to his audience. He stayed beyond the performance for a considerable amount of time answering questions and talking to students and parents. Students\' enthusiasm was higher than I have seen with any other programs we have brought in. He was superb!

Before the convo, I thought \'how could a 45 min. writing lesson be fun\'??? It was awesome from the first minute to the last. Our 1-3rd graders loved it. We went back to our room and wrote about Our Pets and used HOT SAUCE WORDS. We typed them on the computer today. I wish it was on tape to show the classes every year. Thanks!!!

This program was terrific! The children enjoyed it and even the teachers complimented on what a wonderful program this was and how well it was presented. Jim Mitchell is an excellent entertainer that gets learning across to his audience. I would highly recommend it!

For eight years I have been head of the committee that organizes at least 10 guests into our school each year. I have never had such a response from both teachers and students as I did with the 6+1 traits assembly. Jim was full of energy and had the kids laughing throughtout the program. At the same time they were listening and learning. I have heard many teachers make references to some of Jim\'s thoughts and ideas from the show while they are teaching writing.I highly recommend this program to any school using the 6+1 writing program. Awesome!
